Back porch revamp

I'm embarrassed to admit that last fall I did a post on reclaiming my screened-in back porch (click here to see). Here I am 7 months later finally finishing it up. The pic above is my before. Note the floor....yes, I power washed the decking and applied a semi transparent stain (Behr Sunset Grey). I should have taken some better pictures of the decking before and after, but it turned out really nice....and it was so simple. I finished staining it in about 3 hours. I spray painted my wicker chairs heirloom white. The pillows (click here for tutorial) I made matched great with the Pier One cushions I got on sale last spring really cheap.

Of course, I had to add some art to brighten up the space.

Can't even tell you how many times I reworked this piece. I'm pretty pleased with the finished work. It's mixed media -- acrylic, modeling paste and collage.

It's just the perfect place to sit in the mornings for my quiet time and coffee. Oh, and the dogs are now banned from the porch for good : )

I'll be posting.....
